The MACRO chair was inspired by the wild grain of an old crop of Macrocarpa trees planted by colonial settlers. While felling and milling these trees, their unique form stood out and the process of forming them into furntiure began. Taking design cues from Mies van der Rohe’s and Lilly Reich’s Barcelona chair, the shape is simple and classic to fit into the modern home.
Taking a chance on the new, requires the bold. As a thank you to you adventurous early adopters considering purchasing a seat or table I am happy to offer a $500 for the first season designs. Buying a seat from MACROdesign will enable this company to continue to grow and innovate, pushing to make modern, sustainable wooden furinture right here in New Zealand.
